To say that I had the most amazing time at my baby shower is an understatement. It was truly magical and I cried for days from the overwhelming amount of love I felt that afternoon. You know when your heart is so full of love that you feel like you are literally floating on a cloud? Well, it’s been two weeks since the shower and I still have that feeling. I will cherish the memories of that day forever.
My friends are some of the best girls I’ve ever known! Not only did they shower me with gifts and incredible words, but they also planned a perfectly tailored afternoon to celebrate me and this precious boy. Lindsay at FlowersandFlour outdid herself with the florals. My beautiful mother-in-law gathered our incredible friends to create a spread that was enough to feed a small wedding. Grace, who has been by my side through this journey to pregnancy, hosted us all at her beautiful home. And it was an honor to have Ned’s grandma and my mom fly in to celebrate with us for a few days. I knew I had to have photos of the day to share the precious moments with you all and Hannah was able to capture some beautiful glimpses for me. Wow! What an amazing celebration.
So, Ned and I have chosen to name our son Silas Rein Alexander. Silas is derived from an Aramaic word meaning “asked for” and a Hebrew word that means “the third”. We thought this was perfectly fitting since we’ve been praying for two years to have a baby and this is our third pregnancy.
This baby, our soon to be first-born son, is very special and I am honored to be his mommy forever. I’ve been late on writing this blog post because Ned & I moved the week of Thanksgiving. We needed a three bedroom place to make room for our growing family and we found a cute little rented house just minutes away from our old place that fits our needs. Things are getting settled around here. The house is mostly unpacked and organized. Almost all of the baby items from our registry have arrived and I can’t wait to get Silas’s room ready for his arrival. I’m excited to share more photos of our journey along the way.
